We would like to warmly welcome all the new children and parents into our Reception classes.  We have enjoyed meeting you all throughout our transition period and during our home visits.  Our first task at the beginning of the new school year is to settle the children into school so that they feel safe and are confident with the classroom routines.

Our first topic is "Ourselves" and we will be finding out what the children enjoy doing and how they learn. We will be establishing what the children know and planning their next steps of learning.  At St Paul's we believe that children in the Early Years learn best through purposeful play, and this is reflected in our curriculum.

Learning in Reception is a partnership between the children, their parents and our staff.  We are inviting our parents to join us for a curriculum evening on Wednesday 4th October 2017 from 7-8pm.  During this session we will be demonstrating how we teach reading, phonics and maths and explaining how parents can support their children in their learning.

We look forward to welcoming you into to school during the next few weeks.
