Year 3 Homepage

All aboard for a fun-filled, fantastic year of learning and adventure in Year 3.  The teaching staff are raring to go as they plan and prepare topics such as Walk Like An Egyptian, Run Like an Egyptian, Let There Be Light and The Land That Time Forgot.

We launch into Term 1 with the topic of “Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside”.   The children will begin by exploring a stormy tale of a cat and her human who save the whole seaside village from starvation – The Mousehole Cat.  The seaside fascination will continue as we study the features of coastal towns in our geography sessions.

We’re already very impressed with the way the children are remembering to bring in their planners and reading books.  We ask that this good habit continues, as both the planner and the reading book are required in school each day.  Many children have already celebrated reading achievement with the presentation of a certificate.  Reading to an adult, at home, three times a week or more, is a vital step in the journey to becoming a confident and independent reader.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you wish to discuss your child’s learning.  We look forward to working in partnership with you as the school year progresses.
