An activity which allows the children to develop and apply their understanding of inference.
Definition: Inference is when you use clues from the text and prior knowledge to work out something the author doesn’t tell you. Often related to character, setting and mood.
This is an example of an activity with a focus on clarifying the meaning of words.
To clarify something makes it easier to understand. There are 2 parts to clarifying:
1. Identifying or admitting being stuck on a word or idea.
2. Working out how to solve the problem.
