Year One
Happy New Year! We hope you have all had a restful break.
Our learning journey this term is ‘Pirates’.
We have begun this term by looking at the story ‘Pirate Pete’ by Kim Kennedy. We have been busy using our imagination to create descriptions of interesting islands.
Later in the Term we will be making our own pirate boats in DT and testing whether they float or sink as part of our Science lessons.
Thank you for your continued support with reading and phonics at home. Progress is really noticeable in those children that are reading regularly. We are currently looking for volunteers to hear our children read in school. Any parents or other adults that are able to spare a short amount of time each week please see your child’s class teacher.
