St Paul's CE Academy

"Where love and learning meet."

Psalm 32:8  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Term 6

In English we are exploring both fiction and non-fiction through our study of the rainforest. We will be exploring the Jungle Book in our narrative topic focusing on descriptive writing.

We will write our own adventure stories inspired by The Explorer. We will also be writing recounts about our trip to Bedgebury. (4th July)

This term children will be consolidating their understanding of number and the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).

We will also be revisiting shape, time, area and perimeter in preparation for year 5.

In Science, we are learning all about living things and their habitats. Children will learn how to classify various living things, learning about their habitats and the environment around us.

Our PSHE topic will be Changing me, where we look at how our bodies change as we grow up.

Please encourage your child to practise all their times tables up to 12 x 12 as well as division facts.

Thank you for your on-going support and feel free to speak to any of the Year 4 team when needed.
