Word building helps your child to hear each sounds in a word, link those sounds to the letters we use to represent them and to read the word back afterwards.
Sound swap with the initial code
Children often find it difficult to hear and correctly say similar sounding words such as "cap" and "clap". This activity helps build your child's confidence when swapping, adding or deleting sounds from words. This is an important skill for both their pronunciation, reading and spelling.
